For smaller quantities (100-piece minimum), we can reduce the shank to a diameter below the threads by hand. This method adds on two weeks to delivery.

What is a captivated screw - and where do you use it?
The most common application for a tamper-proof captivated screw or bolt is in a security door that must not lose the security screw when opened. The idea is to put the captivated security screw fully through a pre-threaded hole where it’s unthreaded. The security bolt then remains in the security door when the panel is opened. This eliminates its loss and makes sure the security door remains tamper-proof even after repeated openings.
