Captivated Security Bolts & Screws

Standard-Security & High-Security Options

Easy Security - Don't Lose the Fastener

We offer Captivated security screws and bolts in almost every size.

For smaller quantities (100-piece minimum), we can reduce the shank to a diameter below the threads by hand. This method adds on two weeks to delivery.

We have a centerless grinding machine for larger quantities. Minimums as low as 500 pieces with standard delivery times. Call/Email for more information.

What is a captivated screw - and where do you use it?

The most common application for a tamper-proof captivated screw or bolt is in a security door that must not lose the security screw when opened. The idea is to put the captivated security screw fully through a pre-threaded hole where it’s unthreaded. The security bolt then remains in the security door when the panel is opened. This eliminates its loss and makes sure the security door remains tamper-proof even after repeated openings.
