Keyed-Lok screws stop theft of digital light projectors (LCD/DLP) from a major universityIn May 2003, an attempt was made to steal a digital light projector (LCD/DLP) mounted to the ceiling of a major university project room. Cables had been unhooked and a chair was left under the projector, but thieves left empty-handed because KEYED-LOK tamper-proof screws were used to secure the mount. Previously the university's LCD/DLP mounts were secured by the hex-pin security screws which came with the mount. After a number of LCD/DLPs were stolen, the hex-pin screws were changed to Bryce Fastener's tamper-proof KEYED-LOK screws. The very next theft attempt was foiled. Security reported that the mount had been "worked over", but the LCD/DLP remained intact. Due to the unique socket/key configuration developed specifically for the university, thieves were prevented from unscrewing the projector from the mount with bits available to the general public. |

Universities are scrambling to secure their LCD/DLPs. Many are turning to KEYED-LOK. KEYED-LOK is a low-cost, tamper-proof solution that works with standard DLP mounts. Because the socket/key configuration is individualized for each customer, the access to the bits are controlled - preventing theft and protecting property. For a cost of about $1,000.00, universities can secure their LCD/DLP mounts as well as their other equipment.
